|NEWSLETTER No. 62 October 2013|
October got off to a great start when a large number of us travelled to the Restaurante Asturias at Punta Prima on the Orihuela Costa for a “Lunch With Adrian Plass”. The lunch was arranged and organised by Richard Hewes who heads up M.O.V.E. (Men Of Vision Espana) which was birthed here at Wellspring. Richard's desire was for a meeting where like minded Christian men from up and down the Costas could join together along with their wives, families and friends and enjoy a relaxed time of good Christian fun and fellowship. What a success the day was! On a beautiful sunny day we gathered in a lovely room to enjoy a typical Spanish menu del dia, an afternoon of good food, good service and a great atmosphere. Adrian Plass was a real blessing, with his droll, fascinating sense of humour, he had the room roaring with laughter, but the deep, meaningful message of what he brought touched many people there. This was a wonderful opportunity to witness to non-Christian family and friends. A truly refreshing and uplifting day. Thank you Lord.|

On Friday 11th. a work party gathered at church to put the final touches to the work done after repairs to the water damaged ceiling and the removal of the disabled access ramp some time ago. Whilst the “heavy gang” got to work with Kango and shovels, the techies set about rewiring the audio and video equipment inside. The building has really benefited from the day's work which has given us more room around the worship team and communion table. We look forward to enjoying the Lord's house over the coming months.|
Now that the intense heat of the summer months is receding we have re-started our home groups with two groups meeting on Camposol and one in Isla Plana. The times and subjects are adapted to meet the needs of those attending, with the latest theme being to take notes from the previous Sunday's sermon and discuss them in depth. We have been able to take advantage of the glorious October weather and hold several meetings outside in the shade of the gazebo, where we have enjoyed a great time of lively discussion, fun and fellowship.
Another benefit of the summer heat easing is that we have been able to re-instate our monthly Saturday morning breakfasts followed by a walk with the “Wellspring Wanderers”. For the first breakfast of the new season a large crowd gathered at La Vida in El Pareton to enjoy an excellent “full fried”, this was followed by a walk around the local area in lovely autumn sunshine. It is wonderful to see so many non-Wellspring regulars and non-Christian family and friends at these events, and again, we thank the Lord for His provision of a wonderful opportunity to witness.
We have also re-started our monthly Saturday morning prayer meetings in church, and again this first one was very well attended, with several new faces there for the first time.
|Jean Giving testimony.||Praise and worship|
What shear delight it was to hear Jean give her testimony during our Sunday morning service on the 20th. Along with her husband Tom, Jean is spending the winter with us here on the Costa Calida, and what a blessing this precious woman of God is proving to be. She kept us all enthralled, amused and deeply touched with the story of her walk with the Lord. We look forward with what God will lay on Jean's heart to bring to us over the coming months.|
We have been blessed with beautiful warm, sunny days throughout October, and inspired by spectacular sunrises and sunsets. I can't help but gaze at the sky and be overwhelmed by the glory of God's creation. We have so much to thank him for.
