NEWSLETTER No. 54 - February 2013
It's great to now have four children as regular members of our congregation. As most of the ex-pats in the area are retirees, and therefore fairly senior in years, it gives us a real lift to welcome these youngsters. The creche is now up and running with TV and DVD player, and so we have the opportunity to teach these precious young people about the love of Jesus at a very important early age.

Starting this month, February, our monthly Saturday morning breakfast is to be followed by a walk (more of a stroll really!). This gives us the chance to walk off 40 or 50 of the 2000 or so calories we've just devoured over a full English breakfast!!!!!!! It also gives us the opportunity for a time of fellowship, and time to reflect on the glory of God's creation in this beautiful corner of Spain. With our wonderful, reliable climate, we have a great opportunity to invite non-Christian friends along, and on the first walk, along the coastal path above Bolnuevo, the “Wellspring Wanderers” were joined by several guests who thoroughly enjoyed their time with us. We pray that through this new venture many will be led to the Lord.

On Missions Sunday it was a privilege to be able to report on the success of Victory Missions projects in India, Rwanda and Cambodia. In 2012, on top of our regular tithe to Missions, we, as a church, raised 1260 euros specifically for the Safe House in Cambodia. In 2013 our additional fund raising will continue, but this year our focus will be on the newly acquired orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya. This is in line with Victory's drive to encourage sponsors to come forward and support this desperately needy and worthwhile cause.

As was said on Sunday, isn't it amazing to think that because of you, someone, somewhere in the world could get to know about Jesus? Because of something that you do today a precious little life somewhere could be changed forever. And the repercussions could bring amazing change to so many.

Another change to our program is that our monthly, Saturday morning prayer meetings have been re-instated. They are held in church on the last Saturday of each month at 10:30, the first one being held this month, February.

On Sunday 24th we held our A.G.M. after our morning service. In it Pastor Andrew outlined his plans to concentrate more on reaching out into the local community, and spoke on making more use of the church building during the week in an initiative to encourage non-Christians to come along and find out more about us. He asked all those present to help to come up with ideas about what might attract people to come along. Pastor Andrew also announced that we, as a church, would be sponsoring a child at the Kenyan Orphanage as from March 2013. If anyone reading this newsletter would like to personally sponsor a child please, contact us for more information or visit the VCI Children's Homes website.

Our home groups continue to flourish with three groups in place at the moment. Two of the groups are running the “Freedom In Christ Course” which we are all finding a real blessing.

Here on the Costa Calida the flowers are starting to bloom, the birds are singing and the insects are becoming more and more prolific. True signs of spring and a wonderful opportunity for new beginnings. We thank the Lord for where He has placed us and the people He has brought into our lives.

God bless you all.
Wellspring Victory Church.
