NEWSLETTER No. 50 - October 2012
The fourth Ladies Of Victory Espana (L.O.V.E.) conference was held on Saturday 6th. October with guest speaker Brenda Wray from the U.K. This year the venue was Wellspring Victory Church. Ladies from the three Spanish Victory churches attended plus several additional ladies from the local area to hear Brenda speak on the topic “Furnished For His Glory”, where she brought the subject of God's covenant with His people right up to date. The ladies had a great day, sharing lunch and having a time of fellowship together. Brenda did a great job, and we look forward to having her back here in Spain again in the not too distant future.

Whilst the ladies were being blessed at the conference, a large group of the men from Wellspring and our sister churches at New Life and Hope, gathered for a day of fellowship and friendship beginning with a huge traditional breakfast at the “New Royal”. We then drove the few kilometers through some breathtaking scenery to “The Guns”, a well known destination for visitors with lots to see.

Brenda then spoke at our Sunday morning service with a powerful word for all. At Brenda's request, Pastor Wendy sang the very moving solo “How Can You Say No to This Man” which touched many hearts.

The following Sunday we held a very special “Dedication Service” for Pastor Andrew and Wendy's first granddaughter, Bailey Louise. Great to see the church almost full to capacity for this very important day in little Baylie's life. Again Pastor Wendy sang a very moving solo, and Baylie behaved impeccably throughout.

It was wonderful to have Pastor Trevor from our sister church, New Life Victory Church, with us for our service on 21st. Pastor Trevor joined us as a member of the congregation several years ago (thinking that he'd retired!) before God called him to head up our first church plant in Huercal Overa. The Lord provided beautiful premises and a congregation that grew rapidly. The church was also blessed with the provision of gifted speakers and several worship leaders.

After bringing the word, Pastor Trevor outlined his plans for the future. He has stood down from pastoring the church, and handed over to his very capable leadership team. His wife, Sue, has returned to the UK and he will be returning to join her during the next few months after winding up their affairs in Spain. Please pray for them as they endeavor to sell their home in these very difficult times, and also that they will find the right church in which to worship when they get back to the north of England.

Trevor and Sue have been a great blessing to us here at Wellspring. We will miss them.

On Sunday 28th. We were joined by Chris and Dawn from the Victory church in Rugeley. Chris has been a close friend of Pastor Andrew's for many years, and many of us have come to know this precious couple really well since they began visiting us here in Spain over eight years ago.

Pastor Andrew had been striving to bring Chris to the Lord for over thirty years, as he said, “I've never known anyone be so close to being a Christian without actually being one.” Chris finally gave his heart to the Lord four years ago and has quickly become a major player in his home church. Chris gave a very amusing but at the same time moving testimony.

This Sunday was the anniversary of Dawn's daughter's death in a car accident, and Chris told of how Dawn had looked to the Lord for comfort and strength in her hour of need.

As Chris and Dawn served communion Pastors Andrew and Wendy sang a song that had been sung at Haley's funeral. A very moving and special time.

Following communion, Duncan continued with our series on the gifts and the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

For any of you who may be visiting, please note that there will be no service in church on Sunday 11th. November as we will leading the Remembrance Sunday service on Camposol.

Plans for Christmas are beginning to take shape. We have much to look forward to.
