It was a regular Sunday morning meeting, but it was also very special. The atmosphere tingled with excitement at all the Lord was going to do that day. Pastor Andrew led the worship but before that we had our normal short teaching on Prayer from Pat. Belinda led us into communion and God had laid on her heart to speak on LOVE.
God moves in amazing ways as Duncan brought the next teaching in his series on Relationships. The topic was LOVE!
At the end of the meeting Will, one of the Baptismal candidates, shared that the one thing he needed to hear was of God's love!
After the meeting we crossed the road to the beach (just 200 metres!) We were joined by friends from Olive Branch Christian Fellowship and the meeting opened in prayer led by Margaret Locke from Olive Branch.
There were three candidates Will, Pauline and Bill and each was prayed for in turn and received a certificate and book to commemorate the event. Each gave a short testimony or statement of their faith and love for the Lord Jesus before crossing the beach and into the sea.
The Mediterranean was wonderfully warm and thanks to the steep slope we were in waist deep in just a few metres giving those on dry land a great view. The waves were strong and rising from waist to shoulder even before the baptism.
After the service we all gathered for lunch and a most enjoyable time of fellowship.
